I recognize it has been ages, but what better way to come back and start new ideas than with a celebration of Spring? A rebirth and re-emergence into the world, no less.

I love movie time, and even more, I absolutely adore animations. Few things make me feel happier than a stormy night (Georgia state is currently under tornado warnings, and we are experiencing a rip roaring thunderstorm as I type), and a movie that reminds me of my childhood. Peanuts fits the bill perfectly.

Now, granted, this is not part of the original Peanuts magic, nonetheless, it still warms my heart.

So welcome back to Kattitudes, and enjoy a little Easter cartoon magic on me.

This has absolutely nothing to do with making gifts of any sort and absolutely no craft or crafting skills are necessary. However, it amused me to absolutely no end, so I decided I had to share.

Not everything makes me literally laugh out loud, but this sure did. I hope you enjoy it too.

At this time, I have posted, I believe, all the other Rankin Bass movies (and we know that I absolutely adore them. Just adore them).

As we end our Christmas holiday season, I just cannot let the New Year celebration pass without posting the last of the holiday ensemble: Rudolph’s Shiny New Year.

Very interesting 1936 Fleischer Studios cartoon that is often considered a Christmas cartoon. Not a particularly funny cartoon (as was often the case then), but very memorable.

Classic Christmas cartoon (I think 1936 definitely qualifies as a classic) from Max and Dave Fleischer. If you remember Betty Boop (or if you even know who Betty Boop was), the character Grampy was a part of the Betty Boop cartoons. It is a pretty ancient reference, but enjoyable nonetheless.

And there is something about the vintage and antiquities that makes Christmas time so memorable for me. And part of those vintage and antiquities is the motion picture and animation industry, particularly as we get more advanced in our animation and motion picture industries. So, as a result, enjoy this Christmas blast from the very past.

Baby Sister, this one is just for you. Now we wait and see how long before Google determines that there is a movie with value uploaded to their site and panics, thereby taking it down and destroying an absolutely incredibly Christmas classic in the process.

Either way, I have already watched this eleventy times between last night and today. No wonder nothing is getting done. Sheesh.

But … it is A Christmas Story! Good grief I love this movie!

I love Rankin Bass cartoons. Love them love them. Those are the original Christmas shows to me. In fact, every Christmas my little sister and I have this good natured argument as to what makes the quintessential Christmas movie. I claim it is the original Rankin Bass claymation cartoons. She holds that it is along the lines of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. As a result, they all get watched with regularity over our Christmas holiday together.

However, as odd as it seems, Rankin Bass’s Frosty was not the original Frosty. Instead, this is a much more likely claim to fame. Interesting to watch and honestly a little disconcerting because it is not my familiar claymation. Still, a good cartoon to amuse yourself (or the kids) nonetheless.

As this is coming from a site that takes a brutally long time to load, I find it is best to open the page and let it sit for a few minutes to give the movie a chance to load up. Then, after a few minutes, I hit play and by that time, I do not have to deal with the lag time while the site tries to keep up with the load time (if all that makes sense).

If not, no worries. All that will happen is that the movie pauses whilst it loads up. It is annoying but self correcting.

And it is cute. And wicked. Wicked in the way that only South Park can achieve. And goodness me. What is it about South Park that makes you sing along with the little miscreants? It is just terrible. Terrible that I actually know the words to their twisted little songs!

This is incredible. Not only is Peace on Earth just a precious cartoon, absolutely precious, but it was nominated for the 1939 Nobel Peace prize! It was the only cartoon to ever be nominated for the Nobel Peace prize. What an amazing claim to fame.

And it is a wonderful little piece of Christmas animation.

I just cannot wait for Christmas to get here to post this. I love this movie too much. It is one of my absolute favorite Christmas moments. I watch this over and over.
