Movie time: Southpark Mr. Hanky Christmas Special

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

As this is coming from a site that takes a brutally long time to load, I find it is best to open the page and let it sit for a few minutes to give the movie a chance to load up. Then, after a few minutes, I hit play and by that time, I do not have to deal with the lag time while the site tries to keep up with the load time (if all that makes sense).

If not, no worries. All that will happen is that the movie pauses whilst it loads up. It is annoying but self correcting.

And it is cute. And wicked. Wicked in the way that only South Park can achieve. And goodness me. What is it about South Park that makes you sing along with the little miscreants? It is just terrible. Terrible that I actually know the words to their twisted little songs!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love these things? Schoolhouse Rock just makes my day. I have been singing them so much since finding them online that my Mister has actually asked me (begged, more accurately) to please, please just please use the headphones and listen instead.

Humph. He obviously isn’t a connoisseur.

Cartoon time: Schoolhouse Rock, Three is a Magic Number

Fact from the Magic Fountain of Useless Trivia Information: did you know that this was the first Schoolhouse Rock episode? This is the episode that started the whole magical mystery tour.

Do you want to hear an even scarier trivial piece of information? I remember sitting on the floor of our house in Arkansas, watching cartoons on Saturday morning, seeing this for the first time. That would be about the same time dinosaurs were still wandering the earth too, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m the only one that remembers when this first started to play on television.

Another personal favorite (because I cannot stop singing that catchy tune). Plus with my political science major, I remember and am required to love the controversy that surrounded this particular interpretation of British rule.

Such a simple message (and not just “feed the birds”).

OH! We never told you - we got to sing at St Paul’s Cathedral! Yes. It was during the Thanksgiving Day Services, when St Paul’s ever so generously opens their hearts and their cathedral to the American Church in London. The members of the American Church in London choir are allowed into the St Paul’s Cathedral choir area to sing for the service.

It was beyond anything we could have hoped. A moment we can neither describe nor forget.

We sang in St Paul’s Cathedral. We sang our blessed little heart out.

PS. Ms. Andrews, we adore you. We always have.
