Christmas ball ornament velvet ribbon variation
This is another from the BHG series on how to use up old cracked and damaged ornaments. I love the idea of wrapping an old ornament with approximately two kazillion yards of rich velvet ribbon.
Goodness knows, if your craft storage looks anything like mine, then you have so many ribbons tucked away already that you could open your own craft store. And you probably have another two kazillion bulb ornaments tucked away in all your Christmas storage.
I just love the mix and match idea. I saw the same basic concept at Ikea just this week done with lace on solid red and solid green ball ornaments - but the asking price was some ungodly amount, especially for Ikea! I thought “nope, no way. I have all, and I mean all the ingredients at home already, so off I am to do it there”.
It was just a variation on this theme. And what a great way to really dress up your tree, while using resources that have already been purchased (thus saving another hit on the budget during this high budget draining time of year).
A spot of hot glue (or whatever glue you keep around for your crafting) would keep these in place just fine. I am planning on pulling out my banged and dented pieces next weekend along with my ribbon box and trying this rescue trick on a number of them.
