Christmas tree stocking with garland
After a little mix in a jar fascination, we are right back into my Christmas stocking obsession.
This would be an easy one to make by hand with no particular pattern on hand.
After cutting each half of my stocking out (and before sewing them together), I would work on constructing on the tree and present appliqués.
I would attach my tree and presents, then adorn with all the crazy garland trim and present ribbon that I felt up to adding. Oh, and each point of the cuff has an adorable little christmas bulb light charm handsewn on as a highlight. Love it.
Only after sewing on all the crazy details I felt up to adding would I then sew the two halves of the stocking together and add the cuff on top.
And that is how I would construct these stockings.
Oh so fun to construct and really, they do not take that long to put together. The funny little oddities that come about from individual creation make them all the more precious.
Have you thought about making new stockings for friends or family this year? Budgets are tight for everyone this year, and maybe a new family unit getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas together is ready for a set of Christmas stockings. It would be a wonderful gift!
