Painted pumpkins.
These pumpkins are absolutely wonderful, and oh so easy to reproduce. If you do not have it in you to stab and carve this year, consider painting instead.
And while some of these particular examples are ceramic pumpkins, the concept can certainly be applied to the faux pumpkins that are for sale just everywhere out there. I have even seen a large number of the all white pumpkins available, both real and faux.
If you don’t feel like spelling out any particular word or greeting, you could go old school and simply use your initial. A nice monogram waiting at the front door to greet visitors would certainly look fantastic.
And since you would probably be painting the faux pumpkins anyway, these would make a great present to wrap (repeatedly - lots of boxes and bags for this particular gift) and pass on to someone that you know would appreciate the handiwork.
As for getting the letters just the right size and shape, if you are not comfortable freehanding, simply print out letters in your favorite font and use the resulting printout as a template to guide your paintbrush.
I love the small pumpkins spelling out Happy Halloween. I have always wanted to display those. I guess I’m going to have to get my act together and get them painted before the big day.
