Pumpkin pillow.
Here is another simple throw pillow that I just didn’t feel like paying the money to have sent to the house. It is far too easy to use extra fabric left over from the last quilting frenzy and whip this together.
I love the ric-rac as you don’t see that much these days (unless you spend too much time in a fabric store trim area). And of course the embellishments on top could be reproduced and/or interchanged for just about anything you please.
I just cannot bring myself to spend money on these type of pillows anymore, knowing that with the sewing machine and half an hour, I can make a fair passable imitation myself. The wonderful thing about these pillows is that even if you do not manage to exactly imitate this pumpkin, your interpretation is still going to look perfectly autumnal and Halloweenish, which is to say, it is still going to look perfectly wonderful.
Rather than spend the money on purchasing these, make a few for your friends and take them over just as a surprise next time you stop by for a cuppa. Now when is the last time you made a “just because I thought I would surprise you” present? They are so much fun! Make one this month as a surprise and see that there is so much joy to be had when you indiscriminately start handing out your handiwork.
