Movie time: Learn to juggle.
By the way, since I talked about having this rather silly goal, I wanted to share with you how I am in the process of doing it.
I am a visual learner. Auditory processing doesn’t always work for me. I have learned I am a “show me” person, not a “tell me” person. So YouTube and GoogleVideo were tailor made for me.
After reading book after book and failing time after time, I gave up the (what I thought was a simple) goal of juggling. Then, after joining 43things.com, I gave it some thought and decided to play to my strengths.
I learn by watching, so by golly, find someone to watch juggle and see if I could imitate.
First out of the gate was this chap who has my undying affection for putting together a comprehensible how-to video. He said the magic words “burn this image into your brain. Visualize what I look like and and just be me. Don’t think. Just reproduce the image of me in your head and just be me.” This fellow is determined to get us to just react and juggle. Good lord, I love him for it!
I know it is silly, but it is one of those things I wanted to do. I wanted to juggle.
So tell me. What have you wanted to do that you haven’t yet?
