Rose quartz briolette without wire wrapping.
Here is another example of how to set and wear a briolette stone without using wire wrapping. Just like the previous example, the briolette stone was put on a waxed cotton cord instead of chain and anchored in place with knots. Instead of snuggling the knots right up against the stone, the knots were cushioned with two lovely funky bali silver beads.
The necklace was finished with a another funky bali silver toggle clasp which was again anchored in place by knots (which are not shown in the picture itself).
All in all, a very lovely example of how to display a briolette without having to rely on wire wrapping to display the stone.
Waxed cotton cords are available in different diameters, just like chains, so make sure that the cord that you purchase will pass through the diameter of your drilled stone.
If the diameter of your stone is not large enough, you can either purchase a smaller diameter cord or, if the stone can stand up to it, use a bead reamer to open the diameter enough.
Use caution if you choose this option. Make sure you know what you are doing so as not to ruin a good briolette stone. I have to say, if you are not experienced in doing this, do not practice on a light stone like a rose quartz, as it will show the gouge marks. Just approach with care so you don’t lose your investment.
