Rice crispie ornament.
I just cannot keep these to myself any longer, particularly knowing how popular the last rice crispie treat entry has been.
Are these just not the greatest? They are just rice crispie treats, shaped in a ball (hint: I’m going to make mine with an ice cream scoop so I don’t have to deal with goo all over my hands) and then quickly decorated.
They have just a hint of icing for ornamentation detailed, but my favorite part is the marshmallow top with licorice hanger. I think that rather than fuss with the icing, I am going to replace that with licorice strings pressed into the rice crispie treats.
As long as you decorate while the mixture is still hot and sticky, you could press candies into the mixture and have them dry into place, which means you could still put dotted M&M type candies all over the place without having to deal with getting icing everywhere.
I just fell in love with these the second I saw them and thought, “OK, number ONE on the list of things to make this Christmas”. I wonder how many of you are thinking the same thing?
These are just too darling and I already have my sister convinced to help me make a huge batch for our annual Boxing Day gathering.
