Finger puppet Nativity set.
For ages I keep meaning to make a nativity set with which visiting kids can safely get down and play. In my constant searches, this popped out as something that would definitely be easy for someone to make.
It is not exactly “the one” for which I am looking (like I said before, I get a mental image and will look for years before I find exactly what I want), but nonetheless, it is an easy looking craft that would be simple to duplicate.
Well, I say simple enough to duplicate, but probably a little time consuming because of the number of characters in this particular story. Of course, given the story itself, you could always go a bit crazy and continue to add characters as you go, until you either ran out of inspiration, or ran out of fingers (and toes) with which to manipulate the puppets.
Nonetheless, with a good study of the photo, it is an immensely doable finger puppet set. Something I can see making for the kids to play with while they learn the story of the Nativity.
