Christmas ice skating stocking.

It seems amazing to me, but people are avidly searching for Christmas instructions now. And that reminds me, I am always struck by the dichotomy between those that make things for people and those that don’t.

I have a small club that I run out of my home that I call the 25 Club (I used to have it on the 25th of the month which is how it originally came by the moniker). We meet for a few hours with the express goal to bring our crafting projects and just chat, nosh a little (it always gives me an opportunity to experiment with some Christmas kitchen gift recipes) and focus on getting our Christmas gifts finished before the big day arrives.

Those people that make things for people think the club sounds like the greatest thing since sliced bread. Those people that don’t make things for people would rather have teeth pulled. It’s always a laugh to me to see the difference in people.

Of course, I’m like some weird evangelist for the church of crafting - I do my best to gently convince them of the peaceful benefits that come from making things and seeing the finished beauty you created with your own two hands. Over the years, my soft sell has been pretty successful, but probably because I know when to stop (no used car salesmanship here).

Anyway, back to this gorgeous stocking. Love it. Adore it. Love the skater’s edge to it. I know that somewhere in my copious amounts of instructions, I actually own the pattern to this, which means I can look up the company that put out how to make this stocking.

I say that because generally I think you can look at the photos I post and figure out how to make them (which is the general idea of the whole Kattitudes blog. Simple crafts you can give a good study and figure out how to do it yourself for [hopefully] cheaper than you could buy in a store).

But this particular example is a wee bit more complex than I usually post, so as a “just in case” I will spend the next few days going through my (immense - eek!) catalogue and library of books, patterns and instructions to see if I can find the manufacturer of this particular beauty.

And if anyone knows the information faster than I can find it and wants to save me the trouble, be a love and feel free to post it in the comments. Many thanks would be yours!
