Antiquing tins.
I have posted tins like these before, encouraging people to make their own, rather than pay the silly price that is being asked for a couple of empty tin canisters and a label slapped on there.
How simple is this is make, I ask you?
Well, here is a classic example. Three empty tins of varying sizes.
One label, used repeatedly in your own computer’s graphic program (I use Photoshop with varying degrees of success. Usually I can cobble something together and have it look fairly decent). The label is resized to fit the canister and printed either on self stick (label) paper, or, if you prefer, on just plain old regular paper and decoupaged into place.
Really, it would be whatever works best for you. If you go the decoupage route, you could also “age” the label and add other embellishments, stickers or anything else that stuck your fancy.
Then, if you were giving these as gifts, you could fill them with literally anything under the sun. I have a thousand and one mix recipes available with which to fill these (just do a search for mix recipes).
You could fill them with cushioning paper and use them to gift an incredible handmade set of beautiful jewelry that you worked on for ages. Like I have said so many times before, you are limited only by your imagination.
In order to help facilitate some of these creations, I have a backlog of fantastic labels and the like. Over the next few months, I’ll start pulling them out of my computer storage and posting some of the most fantastical blank ones available for download.
Then for those that are interested, you can snatch them and use them for your own Christmas creations. So please - keep your eyes out for those label giveaways.
