Cutwork scarf.
I really liked these scarves for no other reason than the fact that you could finish them from beginning to end with nothing more than a pair of scissors!
They are made from fleece which already makes your life so much easier. Make sure you make a measurement mark on the fleece where you want the fringe cuts to end so the fringe all ends up exactly the same length (unless you decide that you want to go for funky crazy different lengths).
The initials were carefully traced and cut out with an craft knife, but with care, you could do the same with a pair of scissors. The nice thing about doing it with fleece is that you need not worry about issues of fabric stability and such. Once the fleece is cut, you are good to go, and the edges pretty much self heal well enough that the scarf is fine.
All in all, these are really well done. And with autumn upon us, I am seeing more and more posts about having to make scarves and the like in different blogs around the net. Why not take some time over the weekend and pick out a favorite font, stock up on some bright fleece and make a set for all your friends. It is a quick and easy project that is a useful gift sure to bring a smile.
