Briolette necklace without wirewrapping.
Isn’t this a nice trick? The briolette stone has been put on a waxed cotton cord as opposed to a chain. This stone has been anchored in place with a small bead and a knot on each side.
The necklace was finished with a toggle clasp which was again anchored in place by knots (which are not shown in the picture itself).
All in all, a very lovely example of how to display a briolette without having to rely on wire wrapping to display the stone.
Waxed cotton cords are available in different diameters, just like chains, so make sure that the cord that you purchase will pass through the diameter of your drilled stone.
If the diameter of your stone is not large enough, you can either purchase a smaller diameter cord or, if the stone can stand up to it, use a bead reamer to open the diameter enough.
Use caution if you choose this option. Make sure you know what you are doing so as not to ruin a good briolette stone.
