While this particular idea presented itself as a rug, we just loved the visual and can see adopting it as the most adorable stuffed pillow ever.
Or, if you don’t feel up to making it big enough for a sofa sized pillow, you could downsize it and end up with a truly precious ornament that would make a fantastic handmade gift for all of those holiday exchanges that fill the days before Christmas actually arrives.
We are particularly partial to felt fabric when it comes to these types of patterns and actually have a number of these Santa stars made from felt and they do look adorable.
We have made Santas and snowmen stars to match. They are actually simple to make, with an obviously simple pattern to follow, such that you can really sit and embellish with whatever leftover trims, buttons, baubles and such that you might have knocking about at the bottom of your sewing basket.
