Halloween themed cookies
We saw these earlier this year and thought “bingo!”. What an easy way to decorate for Halloween!
With a handful of store bought cookies and candy coating (or some frosting if like us, you just can’t do the candy coating), we end up with some of the cutest little characters around. Do a search for our past Halloween cookie photos and you have enough cookie ideas to decorate an entire Halloween banquet. Seriously!
The neat thing about the whole frosting versus candy coating issue is that most likely if you check your grocery store carefully, there will be promotional cookies available already in funky Halloween colors like orange and the like (we know that Oreos are available in chocolate because the Mister buys them as his treat).
We are, of course, partial to the dark oreo Halloween kitty face. Those are the ones that we plan on making plenty of for our Halloween dinner party. The witches, the owls, the pumpkins, we love them all! And because they are on such a small scale, it would take such a short period of time to get a lot of these done, so if you have a classroom of kids to entertain, you and your little ones could decorate an entire box of treats in no time flat.
Run with this idea and feel free to email us your results. We would love to see photos of readers’ cookies!
And by the way, look at the display. We are telling you, that candy corn is some mighty powerful stuff. We will not eat it for all the tea in China, but it can be used for just about anything under the sun, up to and including holding up a wonderful display of adorably decorated Halloween cookies. What a great way to decorate!
