Drilled halloween pumpkins.
I snatched this photo last year because I absolutely freaking *loved* the fact that these pumpkins are drilled drilled drilled with your regularly scheduled happy household power tool.
Now I don’t know about you, but as much as I love and adore the holiday season, there is just something about carving pumpkins that makes me say ick. Well, I know what it is….I fall into the prime A1 primadonna classification, if the truth be told. I do it, and even without complaining, but the thought of nicely lining up the little holes and making fantastically hypnotic geometrically pleasing shapes all over the pumpkins with a power tool without having to reach in and get my wee hands all gooey with pumpkin guts? Sounds perfectly wonderful.
Ooh, I love the idea. Just love it. And frankly, these don’t look bad at all. They have a charm to them that you cannot deny.
And particularly if you are in hurry and need to get some decorating done before the big party, this would certainly be a quick and easy way to get the pumpkins finished before the neighbor kids started beating down the door for your chocolate offerings.
We usually end up with about six or seven pumpkins around the house anyway because I can’t say no, so I am thinking that this might be a good year to experiment and see how it turns out trying this little trick.
And aside from all the other arguments, it gives the Mister a reason to attack a vegetable with a power tool. I really don’t think that a significantly more positive reason could be found.
