Just a snip of lace.

bit of lace

Our Mister finds us a bit touched (as does our soeur) because we carry on a daily love affair with lace, literally. Every day we find ourselves compelled to wear something, anything, with just a touch of lace. Sometimes we go simple, like adding just a touch to the edges of our edges of our clothes, like our leggings to the left.

cuffs Sometimes, we go all out and make it extravagant, like sewing a bit like these cuffs and wearing them proudly.

We have these cuffs in black, antique and in a cream color. They are wonderful. We have matching scarves to go with the cuffs. We love them with every ounce of our being.

We have this thing for lace. Have you noticed?

Anyway, main point of the story is that we have discovered as we go public with our lace lust, we are not alone. We have always worn our lace proudly, but more often, we have women walking up to us, begging to know where we found such or such a piece. We simply hand over our business card knowing we can sew them whatever particular piece they love at that moment.

Stop and consider your dear friends. Is there one like me? A secret (or not) lace lover? There are times that it is a challenge to find good quality lace pieces and not the teeny-bopper silly looking fake lace pieces. Therefore, this is one of those times that if you are cruising through your craft stores and find yourself a *nice* quality trim, grab it while you have the chance! These trims are currently usually in the twenty to thirty dollar range, and if, like me, you collect antique pieces, the costs go up outrageously from there. So if you find yourself a good quality trim, grab it. Grab it and use it to trim something wonderful for yourself or your dear friend. Imagine a handkerchief trimmed with lace. Or a skirt, or if you believe in comfort like we do, we trim so many of our tshirts with 5 and 6 inch trims. We love them! Love them!

Do you have a friend that might love them too? It is a simple addition to an inexpensive piece of clothing. A pair of stockings. A set of gloves. A scarf.
