Painted pumpkins
We have seen these in stores, and really like the concept, but really do not like the price. And like so many other things at Kattitudes, if we don’t like the price, we give it a good look, figure out how we can make it ourselves, come home and save the money by doing the work.
As much as we love these pumpkins, we do not know if we would pay anything for them because they do not fit our personal qualification for entry into the house. In order to enter our home, generally, an item must be capable of serving multiple purposes. If the item is strictly for decoration, well, then we really have to l.o.v.e. it in order to spend hard-earned money on it.
Now, having said all that, we can see liking this concept, taking the idea home, and digging into the bottom of the crafts armoire to reach the fake pumpkin we purchased in the off season for pennies. If we feel like our painting skills were not up to our snuff, we would be tempted to decoupage our vision onto the lovely purchased for pennies faux pumpkin.
And we love the idea of having the pumpkin around to decorate a little longer than just for Halloween night. If you are growing your own garden, you might be one of those lucky enough to be able to be fast and loose with your pumpkin supply. In other words, you can paint as many pumpkins as you feel appropriate.
You know, if you don’t feel like giving your all to a faux pumpkin, it really would be kinda neat to paint this on a regular pumpkin. They are less than five dollars and they do last for a while, so in terms of inexpensive fun, it really is not that bad.
All in all, the leaves really do look beautiful blowing across the pumpkins. Try it for yourself rather than spending money on the painting skills of another person. Maybe yours ends up looking even better.
