Do you attend Dragon*con?
Dragon*Con is America’s largest, multi-media, popular arts convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film.
My Mister has attended for as long as I have known him. And last year after holding out for many years, I finally broke down and attended to see if I could determine the attraction such a convention holds for literally thousands and thousands and thousands of peoples. (I just looked up the statistics for the 2006 convention year and attendance was at thirty thousand people….no wonder I felt a little over crowded!) I still have not come to a conclusion, yet once again, I have committed to attending this year.
I know that there are some classes that I will be interested in attending (I know that I can take a class on calligraphy and I just cannot pass up a chance to brush up on my mad skillz) in addition to the opportunity to sit in on a presentation or two by the merry gentlemen from the entertaining television show “Ghosthunters” (also founders of The Atlantic Paranormal Society), and I am never one to pass up an opportunity to listen to ghost stories, ever.
I also know that there is going to be a lot of down time. A lot. So, I am taking my jewelry making supplies and my wallet and plan on encamping within the nearest place of liquid refreshment and making a number of jewelry Christmas gifts. If you are in the area, please feel free to send an email at dragoncon (at) kattitudes (dot) com and let me know. I will let you know what place of liquid refreshment I will be hiding within and I invite you to join me!

Very cool! Gotta admit — a little envious here. Heeheehee! If there was a way for us to be there — we would, LOL! Hope everyone at kattitudes has a good time. Can’t wait to read the reviews & observations.

This is the Mister’s first year with an eternal membership so we are very interested to see what that involves. And the Mister’s sister artist is in the juried show for the first time this year, so it is really with perfect timing that we have finally reversed our position and are attending…along with THIRTY THOUSAND OTHER PEOPLE. THIRTY THOUSAND other people attended last year alone! That is insane! We will indeed observe and review…if we survive.
