You are certainly not going to eat this for your health!
We saw this last year and thought it was too adorable for words. And also just a diabetic attack waiting to happen. However, if you wanted to treat someone special to a Halloween sugar shock and really wanted to spice it up, this would really fit the bill, don’t you think?
The decorations are so easy and simple, and it really would not take that long to finish. This originally used a PopTart pastry base, but you could scale up and decorate a larger cake altogether. Imagine this as a sheet cake size to entertain a roomful of evil scientists.
We just loved the whole idea and wanted to make sure that you had the opportunity to try it out with your loved ones. Grab some candy and some jam, a drop of food coloring and some toast and make your own morning monster toast for your favorite monster. The shape lends itself perfectly to squares of graham crackers, and with smaller pieces of candy, you could actually limit a little of the sugar intake (yeah, right…good luck with that).
And yes, the Haunted Halloween season is upcoming, but we are of the opinion that it is always appropriate to share monster mayhem. Whip up a batch of these and take them to your neighbors or your nephews. Either one would love them and you have to admit, there is something about decorated food items that people just love! Look at all the silly food shows on television. The food competitions that have teams compete for the wildest decorated food plates are just going insane. Visually appealing foods are so crazy right now. Too bad there is so little nutritional benefit in this particular treat. In fact, the nutritional benefit might actually be negative in this particular number, but still, bonus points for a great look!

that is so cute, but what are the eyes made of?

The red eye part are hard candy pieces, but the black in the center is just an icing dot. The heavy eyebrow is half of a chocolate covered mint patty type candy. It looks funky, no?
