Wow what a day.

Today, something amazing happened. A project I had …. (I hate admitting this) - well, a project I promised to many many someones (are you ready for this?) thirteen months ago, I finally (oh, I am just squirming in my seat right now) - I finally FOUND. YES, FOUND.

I ADMIT, I ADMIT. I LOST THE PROJECT so long ago. At the time, we had long-term company staying with us, a kennel owner with her (take a deep breath here) sixteen labrador retrievers. Sixteen. With our then three dogs, we had nineteen dogs in our home. So, in order to keep the project safe, in the midst of one of my organizational frenzies, I tucked the pieces of the project away, with intent to bring it out again when it was safe from the many multiple dangers that it faced in my house.

Time passed, the dogs and the kennel owner left. I went for the project to finish and … MISSING. Oh. My. Gosh. You do not know panic until you realize that you have lost the handiwork of ten different women. Our home has three floors. Every. single. square. foot. of this home had been searched. You have no idea the number of storage places, hiding holes, packing boxes and deep dark dungeons there are possible in one home until you lose approximately twenty two feet of project materials.

Today, a miracle happened. As if lead by my own personal house elf, I stood up from my chair, and without thought and without pause, walked directly to the sewing box that held the fabric pieces for this project. As if by magic. I was literally speechless as I stood there, staring at the project, not even recognizing what I was seeing for a good moment. I stood looking, wondering why my subconscious had prompted me to look in this particular and specific place. Suddenly, recognition hit and my knees actually got weak. You read the phrase in books, but I now know how it feels when one experiences relief to the extent that it makes your knees weak. Amazing.

So, as a treat, upon completion of this project, I will duly record (with photos, of course) the amazing project that almost was not. Fingers crossed, I should actually be finished with the entire thing tomorrow (or the next day, depending on how quickly I lose my mind over this thing!).
