Jewelry bits: head pins

I often encourage making jewelry for gifts. The time you put into making something is as much a gift as the jewelry piece itself. Most jewelry is easily duplicated, if you know the pieces to use. In order to help with that, here are some pictures of basic jewelry parts, along with some basic jewelry making techniques.

Jewelry Parts:

ball headpins

These are called headpins. Specifically, because they have a ball at the end, they are ball headpins. I use these pins to thread pearls onto chains, beads onto anything and pretty much anything drilled with a hole onto anything else. It’s also great to stand on its own for things like mobile phone charms and more.
