A nice 1950’s American vacation.
On a lark, we have decided to drive cross country. We are making the trip from Georgia state in the USA to a small fishing town on the coast of Washington state. Now begins the exciting planning stage. We are going to make a conscious effort to do this as budget friendly as possible, providing for our own meals and even bringing fur children along the way to see how travel with the pets works in 2007.
In the course of our planning, we want to include cooking on the road idea, along with budget sightseeing and shopping on a dime. Our specific travel route is still open, but in the spirit of American exploration as exemplified by America’s golden age, we want to try to incorporate, not just commercial destinations, but instead revisiting our National Parks system, to see the beauty of America firsthand.
With luck, we might be able to include video postcards. If you have suggestions for stops, sales and sights, please leave it in the comments below. We are looking forward to the planning, but the trip itself will take place during the 2007 holiday season. Such fun!
