Christmas kitchen towels

My dear friend Ellyn decorates her house for the holidays. And when I say decorates, I mean the blessed woman goes so far as to change all the wall art to Christmas themed pieces and to change the decor on top of her kitchen cabinets to a holiday theme. Her bathroom art changes. You name it - it changes. Walking into her home at Christmas is like walking into a holiday themed wonderland.

I would love to have the patience to decorate to that level each year. I do have my own traditions though. All the Christmas books come out and get displayed on the mantel. And I try to change my kitchen and bathroom towels to match the season.

When I saw these towels, I realized that I have all the scrap material I need in my scrap box in the craft armoire to make these for myself. We have talked before about my obsessive need to wear lace daily, and much to my husband’s consternation, I display as much lace as I can before he decides that he is being estrogen poisoned.

These towels fit the bill exactly with just enough of a lace fringe to satisfy my inner princess and enough of the holiday theme to keep him from fainting when he sees them.

And, for those in need of gifts to office mates, extended family and rarely seen friends, these towels have the added bonus of a practical gift that can be used each season by the recipient. And I absolutely love the pom-poms and ribbon stitched to the Christmas tree, giving it that little bit of visual oomph. Love these!
