Christmas tree sweater

A sweater with a Christmas tree. Not so unusual, but I absolutely loved the execution of this particular motive. Although we probably do not have time (or the skills) to knit the tree into the sweater itself, the idea is easy to duplicate.
Cutting out the tree shape from felt (or whatever other fabric that works for you), you could put it in a tee shirt, sweater, sweatshirt - whatever floats your boat. The Christmas tree ornaments are buttons that are sewn on.
You could embellish even further with garlands (from the ribbon section of the fabric store) and charms (usually in the jewelry aisle of your craft store).
I am definitely doing this on a comfortable old tee shirt this year. I live in hot Georgia state where 70 and 80 degree Christmases are not unheard of. Try finding a Christmas outfit that is not made of wool in the middle of December.
That is why it is so important to figure out how to embellish holiday themes on comfortable old tee shirts. It is almost the only thing you can stand to have on in the middle of a winter heatwave.
And now that we have established how great this would look on clothing, do not be limited to that idea alone.
This would be a wonderful to dress up table linen, towels, bedroom quilts, living room throws and even a Christmas tree skirt, if you are up to that challenge.
Do not limit yourself on what you can put together. Ideas can stretch across genres easier than we think.
