Embellished umbrella
We are in the middle of summer thunderstorms down here in Hotlanda. It is days like these that reminds me of a fun sweet gift in the form of an umbrella. I actually have this umbrella with roses around the edge and I’ll provide the pictures in just a little bit.
The key to these umbrellas is to simply stitch faux flowers around the edge. When the bumbershoot is closed, it makes for the most adorable looking parasol - I am in love with mine! Based on the amount of abuse my umbrella takes, I use fishing line to get a good strong stitch to keep the flowers in place, regardless of the weather.
One last word of warning. Test the waterfastness of any flowers you use in order to make sure you do not get streaky red from your roses on your favorite white suit.
