Baby tags blanket
Very rarely will I make a baby gift as it is rather a tender subject for me. Sometimes we need to come up with gifts for people and events, whether handmade or not regardless of the joy it may or may not bring us.
I do know that every baby I have ever worked with is utterly fascinated with the tags on blankets. I saw this handmade blanket idea at another of my favorite catalogs - for something like $90 or so. Not on my watch.
This is a square foot of fleece with matching and/or contrasting ribbon folded in half and sewn between the two squares of fleece. Bingo - you have baby’s new favorite toy (and the washable factor will be very appreciated by mom.)

A friend of mine did this for Julia. It really turned out well. I don’t know what it is about babies, but they LOVE their tags
