Silk ribbon embroidered sweater

This is the type of clothing that makes my little heart go pitter-pat. I have more than my fair share of estrogen apparently. My sister even coined a phrase for my taste: frissy. She says I like frilly and prissy things, thus making me frissy. I personally think she’s just jealous that she can’t pull off feather boas and hot pink pushing 40 like I (think I) can (snicker snicker…I have this mental image of what you all must picture me as now…and I like it.)

A.N.Y.W.A.Y. - on to the sweater.

Purchase your typical run of the mill (cotton please) sweater. Pick a silk ribbon embroidery motif and go to town. All around the neckline. Oh my gosh - I want one of these so much (or 7 - one for each day of the week!). Looks like it’s time for me to get out my embroidery bag soon.

If you toddle off to your local library (because we don’t want to spend the money on a particular book until we know for sure…) you can look at the embroidery books that will show you multiple choices for embroidery designs. Or (because being honest, I never make it through the library step…I just go directly for the go-to-the-craft-store-and-overspend step), go directly to your local craft store, do not pass Go, and probably spend the $200 right there. I have a book of garden motifs with absolutely to-die-for flower designs. Poinsettias for Christmas. Pansies for summer. Roses for anything under the sun. I’ll have to list some of the books I adore on my website kattitudes for anyone that needs a recommendation for good embroidery ideas.

If someone really REALLY needs to practice their silk embroidery, I have about 37 different sweaters and tshirts I would be willing to let you practice on…as long as you sent them all back to me after you are done. Isn’t that generous of me? (and if that works on anyone, I’ll eat my hat!)
