Candy cane stocking
As promised, here is another example of a stocking that is far too easy to make yourself to justify purchasing it at a high-end department store.
Felt and scissors. Thread of course. Again, these stockings (for sale at one of my favorite foo-foo websites) aren’t even finished on the seams. They’ve been cut with craft scissors and finished with a running stitch.
You could sit in front of a Christmas movie and whip out enough of these for an entire family. If you are feeling brave, you could even embroider their names (or…if you want to keep with the cutout felt theme… you could simply print out their names [enlarged] on your computer and use that as a template for the letters in their names). It might take you up to two movies to finish these stockings if you decided to go that route… unless the family is particularly small (as mine is).
As cute as this stocking is, in my mind, it screams for appropriate colors. I would do this in red and white in a heartbeat. It would look so cute!
