Christmas mug and Candied spoons

To make the candied spoons (not quite the same as chocolate covered spoons):
Vegetable cooking spray
3 to 4 pinches hard candy, crushed
2 tablespoons white corn syrup
Heavy-eight plastic spoons
Line a jellyroll pan with wax paper; spray with cooking spray. You want a pan with very low sides, because you place the spoons on the wax paper and balance the handles on the edge of the pan so that the candy cools and hardens without spilling out of the spoon bowl.
In a small heavy saucepan, combine crushed candies and corn syrup over low heat. Stirring frequently, heat until candies melt. Spoon candy into bowl of each spoon. Place spoons on prepared pan with handles on rim and spoons level. Allow candy to harden. Store in airtight container.
For Christmas, give a great decorated mug, wrap the spoons in colored plastic wrap and give with a big bow and a pound of good coffee beans. Easy peasy!
