Laced edged linen

Can a present get easier than this? Buy some fleece and pick a lace trim that really floats your boat. Sew the lace on the edge of the fleece and voila - lace edged blanket.

Change the fleece to to a set of sheets and you’ve got a fantastic practical gift. Use a long and narrow cut of fabric, edge with your trim and presto - instant lovely scarf.

I am a lace fanatic. In my opinion, there is nothing on earth that would not be improved with just a smidgen of lace. Ask my poor little sister who, at the age of 29, finally figured out that I actually wear something with lace every day - even if it’s just a little lace on my socks. (I even have lace jewelry and I’m working on selling a line of lace items…..someday). For some reason, my science-teacher-labrador-retriever-kennel-owning-farm-mucking sister laughed at my need to wear lace. It is ok though - I still like her (and I’m looking to make just the right lace-covered item for her for her Christmas present this year, so there!).

Main point of the story here is that you sew a little lace trim (or velvet trim or crocheted trim or embroidered trim or satin trim) on just about anything and you have an instant elegant looking gift.
